Army transsexual puts on a brave face
EXPRESS REPORTER JOE RUSHTON, the British Army’s first transsexual soldier, faced his colleagues yesterday for the first time. Striding into the Sergeant’s Mess at Tidworth Barracks, Hants, he asked colleagues: “What do you think?” One said: “We were all stunned to see pictures of him dressed as a woman. “And a female soldier said: ’You bitch! You have a better figure than me’.” Four-times married Rushton, 37, who has a son of eight, stunned military top brass by “coming out” in yesterday’s Express. He developed breasts after undergoing a year’s hormone replacement therapy and hopes to have a sex change operation.
